
The World Humanoid Robotics Games, which are cosponsored by the Beijing municipal government, got underway Thursday and run till Sunday. Hundreds of different robots will be featured as they punch, race and even dance against each other in different contests. The games are meant to showcase China’s innovations in robotics and AI. Teams are made up of robotics companies and various universities.
In China, the robotics sector has gotten over $20 billion in subsidies this year, and Beijing is planning another $100 billion to support robotics and AI startups.
