On The Scene: Homes and buildings were reduced to rubble on Wednesday (January 9), as fire in the Pacific Palisades, on the west side of Los Angeles, raged uncontrollably. The Palisades fire, one of six separate wildfires burning in Los Angeles County, consumed 17,234 acres (6,974 hectares), according to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection.
