Video from Black Sabbath’s farewell show in Birmingham, England, on Saturday, July 5, shows the final public performance of the late Ozzy Osbourne before his death on July 22.

In a statement released on Osbourne’s social media pages, his family expressed their grief at the heavy metal icon’s passing.

“It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love,” the statement read. “We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time.”

Osbourne had reunited with the original members of Black Sabbath for the first time in 20 years at a farewell concert called Back to the Beginning at Villa Park in Birmingham earlier this month. The event saw Osbourne perform his own short set before joining with Black Sabbath.

The concert also saw sets from Metallica, Slayer, Pantera, as well as performances from Fred Durst, Billy Corgan, Slash, David Draiman, among others. According to initial reviews, about 40,000 people attended the concert and a peak of 5.9 million watched the livestream of the gig.

Video captured at the event by Nicola Withford-Eaton shows Osbourne perform his 1980 release ‘Mr Crowley’.
