"I was using the propane tank to fuel a light source while replacing the wiring
in the attic that rats had chewed into. The adapter hose busted while just sitting in the corner not being used at the time. I guess the tank valve wasn't shut off, only the valve on the lantern connected was shut off. We weren't working at the time. We had sat the tank in the corner and was cleaning up the tools because we were done for the evening. All this took place in the house. It was an old, small wood frame house in Wahneta. It was the mid 90's so we didn't have fancy battery powered lights like we do today. Even if we would've, I didn't have the money to afford them. We were making do with what we had. Funny thing is Christy had went to pick up the tank to move it out of the room because we knew it was a hazard. As soon as she picked it up the gas started spraying everywhere. I immediately knew the gas was going to hit the open flame across the room so I ran snatched it out of her hands that left me holding the tank when it exploded."
