Nuneaton, Warwickshire.

Various tests are carried out on motor cars to increase safety and comfort by the Motor Industry Research Association. We see a car in the tethered vehicle test, where it is attached to a lorry and men monitor the steering. Another test shows a man getting in a car which has been in minus 30 degree temperatures and is covered in ice, the engine starts first time, the empty shell of a car is tested for vibrations and noise resistance.

Various shots of suspension and steering tests over bumpy roads, and simulated dust storms and monsoon conditions for when they are exported. M/S as a car skids to a stop on the road.

Note: cars used in the tests include Austin 1800, M.G. Midget, Rolls Royce and Jaguar.

Cuts exist please see separate record.
