Spawned from the shores of Delmarva, VIVID DARK is a technical death metal band with deep neoclassical, death metal and black metal influences. VIVID DARK started with guitarist, bassist and composer Austin Mayan beginning the writing process, shortly thereafter getting lifelong friend Troy Giordano on board for his vocal debut, and employing the notorious KC Brand (The Odious Construct, The Ritual Aura, Illucinus, and Equipoise) to orchestrate drums. Together, they created a sonic assault of ambitious, baroque inspired compositions with plenty of "over the top" moments in the form of the debut release, "USURPER". USURPER is a journey of speed, melody, and precision - with blackened death vocals narrating the barrage of harmony guitars, and an artillery of blast beats and rhythmic complexity setting the pace for what has been described as "the love child of First Fragment and Demon King".
