Sir Keir Starmer is expected to face questions this morning about Elon Musk’s attacks on his Government over the grooming gangs scandal.
The Prime Minister has so far not spoken to defend his record since the slew of online posts from the tech billionaire, who is a key member of US president-elect Donald Trump’s inner circle.
Sir Keir will deliver a major speech on NHS reform as he sets out his plan to reduce waiting lists but the address threatens to be overshadowed by questions about Mr Musk.
The premier is expected to answer questions from the media after his speech and is likely to be grilled over Mr Musk’s tweets and calls from other parties to launch a new inquiry into child sexual exploitation.
It came as Professor Alexis Jay, who led the Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse (IICSA) which published its report in Oct 2022, urged Sir Keir to implement its recommendations in full.
