Дано обоснование к использованию кислорода под давлением для терапии ряда патологических состояний. Показаны типы одноместных барокамер и крупнейший в мире комплекс многоместных барокамер, созданных в институте. Рассказывается о применении баротерапии при тяжёлых осложнениях, возникающих при инфаркте миокарда и после операций на открытом сердце, при отравлениях окисью углерода и поражении анаэробной инфекцией. Показано также, как применение гипербарической оксигенации при операциях, связанных с ишемией мозга, значительно расширяет возможности хирургического вмешательства.

The rationale for the use of oxygen under pressure for the treatment of a number of pathological conditions is given. The types of single pressure chambers and the world's largest complex of multi-seat pressure chambers created at the Institute are shown. It describes the use of barotherapy for severe complications arising from myocardial infarction and after open heart surgery, carbon monoxide poisoning and anaerobic infection. It is also shown how the use of hyperbaric oxygenation in operations associated with cerebral ischemia significantly expands the possibilities of surgical intervention.
