ICE / OVER THE RAINBOW
ICE, a unit formed by Kazuyuki Miyauchi (producer/guitarist) and Mayumi Kunioka (vocalist), has released its first two 7-inch singles simultaneously!
ICE debuted in 1993, and with Miyauchi's sophisticated yet edgy sound production and Kunioka's unique coolness in her singing voice, they had a unique presence in the J-POP scene. and "OVER THE RAINBOW" from their 4th album "We're In The Mood" released in 1996, are now available in long-awaited analog form for the first time!
DRIVE" was released as a coupling track to the single "BABY MAYBE" at the time, and is a killer track with an incredibly cool and groovy sound that can be seen as an answer from the Japanese side to the UK acid jazz scene. The B-side, "Over the Rainbow," is an emotional medium tune that pays homage to 70's soul music. DJ Notoya (Tokyo Condition) selected and supervised the music for this 7" release, and 8ronix (bullpen lab.) was in charge of the remastering.
