A quick look on an Omega movement with the Co-Axial escapement.▶ It a is self-winding (automatic) movement with 27 jewels and beating at 25200 bph. Omega's 2628 basic calibre is the Ω 2500.
Except from the type of escapement, another basic difference from the more common movements such as the ETA 2892A2 is the type of regulation. The hairspring of the watch is a "free-hairspring" and timing of the watch is performed by adjusting two regulating screws, situated on the balance wheel. This enhances the precision of regulation and along with the new alloys used gives great accuracy to the watch.
