From trip to tribe: bringing the vision to fruition
In a traditional context, the shaman's revelations are not so much for personal growth but to help the tribe respond to threats and opportunities - accessing resources, healing diseases, resolving disputes, informing decisions... In a global village with tensions that span the planet, how can our psychedelic insights help us survive and thrive? After getting ill and getting cured in the Amazon, Danny founded a charity restoring ecosystems with Indigenous nations, black women's groups in urban slums and other marginalised communities in Brazil. The organisation is inspired by networks in nature, particularly the mycelial webs beneath the forest floor that connect trees into a community of resilience. The talk explores how we can bring our visions to life, and how psychedelic intelligence(s) can inform our ways of being, working and collaborating in the world.
Danny has spent over 20 years with the Daime ayahuasca community, including time in the jungle battling a parasite. He is a hypnotist, activist and speaker specializing in drugs in the Bible, revelation and politics in science, and the connection between linguistics, neurobiology and cognition. He also co-directs RAIN (Regenerative Agroforestry Impact Network - www.rainreforest.org). His books Science Revealed and Neuro-Apocalypse are out on Psychedelic Press.
