Laser hair removal uses an intense beam of light which selectively destroys the hair follicles by targeting the melanin (colour) in them. The pigment in the hair follicle absorbs the laser’s light pulse. This damages the follicle enough to significantly reduce the hair regrowth, whilst leaving the surrounding tissue unaffected. During the treatment you will feel a slight, hot pricking sensation in the area being treated. However this is soothed by the cooling system attached to the laser as well as applying aloe vera gel following the treatment.
