In the latest example of how Donald Trump is basically a mob boss, several media outlets are reporting that Trump is considering a major change to the U.S. participation in NATO. Specifically, the United States might not defend a fellow NATO member that is attacked if that country doesn't meet the defense spending threshold.

This would mark a significant shift from what is known as Article 5 of the alliance, which says that an attack on any NATO country is an attack on all of them. Trump was even quoted as saying: "If they don't pay, I'm not going to defend them."
