Two years later, they married in 2015. And they had their first child in 2016. However, soon after giving birth to their second child prematurely, (it's unknown if the premature birth is linked to the accident but it could be), the woman had an accident and her mental age was reduced to that of a one year old.
Some people suggested him leave his wife but he couldn't bring himself to. He takes care of her as if she's his child. Overnight, he became a single father to 3 children. Including one who was in the ICU as a premature infant.
This man is truly extraordinary. Where many men would simply flee leaving the children to the grandparents or up for adoption and his wife in an institution, he stepped up. He worked jobs, took care of them all.
And now, his children are grown up, not adults yet. but they could understand what happened to their mother. The younger one has never been held by her own mother. They wished their mother would recover someday.
The man has tried everything but nothing worked. He's come to terms with the fact that his wife may forever be one years old and that he would have to care for her for life. He still sometimes hopes that his wife would one day wake up and tell him to move them all back to the city.
Let's hope he continues to be strong for his wife and children.
