Tam o' Shanter by Robert Burns *UNCENSORED VERSION* (recital with animation & subtitles)
Robert Burns, (born January 25, 1759, Alloway, Ayrshire, Scotland—died July 21, 1796, Dumfries, Dumfriesshire), national poet of Scotland, who wrote lyrics and songs in Scots and in English. He was also famous for his amours and his rebellion against orthodox religion and morality.
An early version of the poem includes four lines that were deleted at the request of one of Burns' friends, Judge Alexander Fraser Tytler. The poem originally contained the lines:
"Three lawyers' tongues, turn'd inside out,
Wi' lies seam'd like a beggar's clout;
Three priests' hearts, rotten black as muck,
Lay stinking, vile in every neuk."
