Some days ago i found and interesting documentary about Aphex Twin and his whole career. He started in the late 80s making electronic composition with a basic setup of instruments and hand made oscillators and filters. In particular his debut album (Selected Ambient Works 85-92) was a collection of beats recorded on cassette (probably in his bedroom) and some tracks inspired me. Now i absolutely know that he's a genius but i wanted to try to replicate some athmospheres he created in the 80/90s so i decided to take my first two Volcas (Beats and Keys) and made something personal. The result is a really minimalistic Ambient track, the drum groove is inspired by "Ageispolis" and the pads are a little detuned in order to remind the microtonal sound textures he used a lot in his debut album.
