Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women in India and across the world.
Breast cancer usually starts off in the lobules that supply them with milk.
It can spread to other parts of the body too.
Globally, it is the leading type of cancer in women with 25% of all cases diagnosed.
1 in 28 women may be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime.
Breast cancer can affect women of all ages.
In urban areas 1 in 22 women are prone to breast cancer.
In rural areas 1 in 60 women are prone to breast cancer.
Only 6-8% of all breast cancer cases are hereditary.
More than 60% of the women are diagnosed with breast cancer at stage III or IV in India.
Majority of breast cancer cases occur in females however it can even happen to males.
