This video is a little progress report of how things are looking after a month or so of clearing the property. We made a lot of progress clearing the area around two of the houses that need to be renovated, and we also hired people to help us clear the wild overgrown bush that's covering a good part of the 7+ hectares. We were not exaggerating when we said there were parts that have grown over 4 meters high!

We'll also share a bit of our daily life with winter arriving, and we'll chat about why we're leaving for a little bit! Do not worry, we have not given up on this project - we're just getting started, but there are also lots of things happening behind the scenes to update you on.

Clearing Day Vlog • Overgrown Property Restoration in Rural Argentina

Morning Kick-Off ☀️

Sam and I begin by clearing thick brush around the chalet—showing the insane scale by standing under towering vines.

First Surprise Find 🚚

Unearthed an abandoned pickup truck half-buried in the undergrowth. Definitely not ours—cue a million questions in the comments!

“Jungle Treasures” Hunt 🏺

Workers uncover rusted bottles & relics from years of bush parties—everywhere we look, there’s another surprise.

Admiring the Progress 🌱

After the first sweep, piles of chopped trees reveal bare soil for the first time in decades. The transformation is surreal.

Dog Cameo 🐶

Pupperoni (and Luna!) make their daily rounds, checking on our progress and keeping spirits high.

Round Two Push 🔨

Back in the afternoon for a second session: snipping, piling and tackling the densest patches of bush vines.

Secret Back Entrance 🚪

Sam breaks trail to create a stealthy new access path—no more trekking past the main house or barking dogs every time we arrive.

Teamwork in Action 🤝

I follow behind Sam to yank out roots & stack cuttings to dry, while two local helpers wield chainsaws up front—four hands make light work!

Clearing near Granny’s house uncovers a hidden perimeter wall and a sharp drop-off—who knew the land was terraced like this?

Impenetrable Bush vs. Cleared Path 🌾

Before & after: one-day trail carving saves us five minutes of slogging through wild thorny briars—game-changer for daily access.

Random Relics 🔧

Beyond the truck, we stumble on old doors, a propane tank and other discarded gear—this property really was someone’s dumping ground.

Second House Reveal 🏠

One week in, we’ve tamed thicker bush around House #2. Although the slope & terrace walls made it a slog, victory is sweet.

Moat Experiment 💧

I even dug a little “moat” beside the stone wall—test run for future landscaping ideas once the site is fully cleared.

Handing Over to the Pros 🛠️

With our initial hack-and-stack done, local pro Marcos takes over heavy machinery to finish the job—and we can’t wait to return.

Packing Up & Farewells 🎒

As our rental home wraps up, we pack for Canada—bittersweet to leave, but thrilled by how far we’ve come in just a month.
