
1. The Bread:
Detroit-Style has toasted bread. We use freshly-baked sesame rolls and pop them in the press to get nice and toasted from the outside.
2. The Cheese:
Cheese whiz freaks me out. Instead, we use slices of provolone and swiss that bring the perfect creaminess.
3. The Extras:
Steak and cheese is fine, but add fresh and pickled veggies, spices, and a housemade vinaigrette and you've got a whole different eating experience.
No shade on Philly because they have something that's working for them, but Detroit-Style is better.
