Warsaw vs Kraków 🇵🇱 (Read 👇🏻)

I know I made Kraków win this competition, but I actually prefer Warsaw. I just think for travelers, Kraków is a better place to visit. Let me elaborate.

Beauty ✨ - Kraków wins
Kraków is objectively more beautiful than Warsaw. Warsaw is more a city for work and not so much for travelers. The city was also completely destroyed during the Second World War so it’s not as old and aesthetic as Kraków. It kinda reminds me of my home city Rotterdam, which makes it feel like a second home to me.

Nightlife 🍷 - Warsaw wins
Because basically everyone lives and works in Warsaw, the nightlife is just better in the capital. The city offers more nightlife options than Kraków and it’s more diverse!

Restaurants 🥟 - Warsaw wins
The most diverse set of restaurants is in Warsaw. Maybe for traditional Polish food Kraków is better, but Warsaw is definitely better for international cuisine.

Affordability 💸 - Kraków wins
It doesn’t differ too much because both cities are in Poland. But accommodation, life, and flights are less expensive in Kraków than in Warsaw I’ve found.

Day trip options 🚘 - Kraków wins
Mainly because Warsaw doesn’t have many and Kraków has the Tatra mountains close by and Auschwitz, which I have visited and made a deep impression on me.

Accessibility 🚃 - Warsaw wins
The infrastructure and public transport is amazing in Warsaw. One of the best in Europe I’d say. There’s absolutely no need to rent a car in Warsaw. Kraków might be more walkable, but the public transport isn’t as good as in Warsaw.

Atmosphere 🫶🏻 - Kraków wins
To any traveler I’d recommend to visit Kraków over Warsaw. Mainly because of the atmosphere. Warsaw is perfect if you like big, busy, modern cities. But if you’re traveling for the vibes, definitely pick Kraków!
