A black hole drifting through space, warping the very fabric of space and time...
⭐️ Original Soundscape and Animation ⭐️
At its core, a black hole is an astronomical object of incredible density, weighing many times that of our Sun, and with such an unfathomably strong gravitational pull that not even light can escape it's event horizon. Any matter that ventures too close may wind up getting pulled into the accretion disk orbiting the black hole, where it will slowly be drawn towards the singularity until it eventually disappears from view.
This soundscape is an interpretation of what it would sound like to observe a black hole. It is based loosely on a recording of a black hole NASA shared earlier this year. The sound NASA captured was such a low frequency that it fell well below the range of human hearing and needed to be tuned up by over 50 octaves to make it audible (for reference, normal human hearing covers a range of only 10 octaves). For this video, the soundscape has been made as deep as possible while still being audible, with the low frequency resonance of the celestial winds and white noise warping over time to create a dark and mysterious bass drone.
