Day 4 of Ultimate Adventure (UA) started with a bang … well, for at least one person on the trip. In the first ten miles of the day, Ian Johnson of FourWheeler TV fame locked up the 5.3-liter engine and/or roached the 4L60E transmission on the Chevy "Crawlerado" Colorado he recently completed for RealTruck. Fortunately, for 2022, Ultimate Adventure is being held relatively close to Ian's Big Tire Garage in Mount Pleasant, Tennessee.
After about twelve miles of pavement, the Ultimate Adventure crew dropped into the picturesque Pisgah National Forest and followed Hurricane Creek for approximately 18 miles. Next they passed Max Patch before returning to pavement and clocking off another 120 miles to Petros, Tennessee. Petros is home to the Brushy Mountain Penitentiary, which has been closed for the past five years and is now a museum. After a spooky tour of the prison, the group made its way to nearby Oliver Springs to camp at Windrock Park. A low country boil dinner was provided courtesy of Skyjacker and cooked by past UA participant Travis Farmer. With full stomachs, everyone set up camp for the night, excited to explore what Windrock has to offer on Day 5 of the Ultimate Adventure.
