As well as DJ Fontana and Ronnie Tutt, Elvis worked with drumming legend Hal Blaine, one of the famous Wrecking Crew session musicians.
Hal Blaine recorded with Elvis across the 1960s. It started with Blue Hawaii,
and he had a cameo role in Girls, Girls, Girls. Hit singles included Return to Sender and Viva Las Vegas. He was also part of Elvis’s 1968 TV Comeback Special.
Hal Blain is one of the most recorded drummers in history. He has played on 40 #1 singles and 150 Top-10 singles!
Phil Spector used the Wrecking Crew as his house band for the wall-of-sound recordings.
