You beautiful Berlin people, underground ravers, DnB lovers, VOIDies, and supporters of the music and culture scene,even though it is for the benefit of all and, thus, also in our interest, we simultaneously regret the fact that we have to close VOID probably until April 23, 2020. Depending on the development, it is possible that the club remains closed even longer.
The sudden shut-down of the complete club scene in Berlin by the Senate leads for us – like for most of the clubs -- to a financial catastrophe: From now on, we lack any income while we still have to cover our regular expenditures on the rent, wages, salaries, as well as further fixed costs. Unfortunately, we also lack any reserves to cope with this crisis. This means we are currently at risk of becoming insolvent and carrying VOID to the grave.
The government has pledged prompt financial help to the whole population. However, to us, it remains unclear if and to what extent this will be possible and if a governmental financial assistance will indeed save subcultural institutions and clubs with anyways low turnover rates.
Against this background, we are currently seeking for donations, for people who would like to contribute to rescuing VOID – a club that belongs to the pulse of Berlin’s current underground scene. We highly appreciate and are thankful for every single contribution.
Importantly, if VOID can open again after this temporal shut-down, we would love to give donators something in return – may it be spots on the guestlist or free drinks.
