Day 2 in Chiang Mai was reserved for exploring the city and the surrounding temples.

Our first destination for the day was the famous Wat Phra That Doi Suthep temple located an hour's drive up the mountain outside Chiang Mai.

We put on some less revealing clothing to follow the temple modesty rules and headed for the mountain. Once we arrived at the bottom of the temple, we noticed there were two ways up - taking a funicular or taking the 300 steps that led to the top.

The steps looked wide and pretty easy to manage, so we decided to bust a move!

The moment we stepped inside Wat PhraThat Doi Suthep, we realized it was worth every step we took!

Such an amazing place! Crowded yet so serene, and it had the best views overlooking the entire city of Chiang Mai!

We took a look around, paid our respects, took some amazing pictures and videos, and descended down to the taxi that took us back to the city!

Exploring Chiang Mai, we noticed that the city was swarmed with temples. It was hard to tell how many there were just in the streets we walked.

In the evening, we visited the local market and returned to the spot where we took cooking classes five years ago.

Tired from all that walking we’d done during the day, the girls returned to the hotel, and we went out to look for some delicious Thai food.

Just when we thought everything was closed because it was already past 9 PM, we found a local restaurant where we got five whole meals for under $20. Can you believe it?

Prices in Chiang Mai were insanely low compared to the parts of the world where we come from!
