The Beatles phenomenal success on American TV's Ed Sullivan Show on 9 February 1964, paved the what for what became known as the "British Invasion". For the next two years British bands dominated the American music scene.American bands even adopted English sounding names, such as The Beefeaters. Although they did find success after they changed their name to the Byrds!
