We are really close to finishing the ceiling in the room. The plaster boards are up, the mineral wool insulation is in and the room is already feeling more cosy for it.Although the beams are still exposed the fire proof insulation and plasterboard has added that extra bit of safety and security in the event of a fire. After all, don't forget this is a house heated by logs.
Thermal performance has always been paramount, but some method of insulation were prohibitively expensive. Therefore,we kept everything simple; this is after all a spare room for occasional summer use.
