The Secret Garden tells the story of Mary Lennox, a spoiled young English girl being raised in India. After the death of her parents, she is sent to live at her mysterious uncle's Yorkshire estate, Misselthwaite Manor. The story is set in England and is one of Frances Hodgson Burnett’s books from 1911. It is one of Burnett’s most popular novels and seen as a classic of English children’s literature. The theme of Secret Garden is healing, Growth and Nature, the power of thought, child rearing and friendship, secrets and independence.
