The third is "Doubtless" from Ramalley Bomb Squad which evokes the melancholia and nostalgic optimism of mid-90's house but does so with a sound palette drawn from contemporary sources. The combination of a shuffling garage beat, skittering hi-hats and booming snare drum drives the body whilst a memorable modular melody plucks at the heart strings and unplaceable vocal samples resonate with the soul.
2014 was an exciting year for Ramalley, aka Tim Coleman. Fabric, Corsica Studios, Ministry of Sound and many other smaller venues across London felt the full force of his trademark visceral blend of music. Fusing early rave, hardcore and electro with contemporary pummelling techno, it'll be a treat to have him play for us in the basement on the 27th March. Gutsy and well-read in the Dark Arts of dance music history, he is not afraid to tantalise a dancefloor with the odd classic house tune or dynamite dancefloor curveball as the crowds at his XOYO residency know well by now. Things are no quieter in his production schedule, with plays on Rinse FM and a remix for Chicago based label 'Them Flavors' already this year. Tim is undoubtedly one to watch. You can catch him on the 27th March at Hysteria Bar, Dalston and you can also listen back to his appearance on our Hoxton FM radio show on the 18/02/15.
