In this video Klemens Koehring performs a speech given by the Radical Liberal MP Richard Cobden calling for the repeal of the Corn Laws. The Corn Laws restricted the import of cheap foreign grain in an effort to protect British farmers. While this was good for landowners it also had the effect of keeping further inflating the price of bread in times of scarcity.
