Rightsized Limo
Sunday, November 15, 2015
The Toronto-based multidisciplinary artist Jon Sasaki hosts his first U.S. solo exhibition in Detroit. Tailgating in MOCADʼs parking lot, Sasaki rips apart a 1980s limo with help from Cranbrook Academy of Art graduate students. Watch as they dismantle and then weld an aging behemoth back together, debuting the All-New 2015 Rightsized Limo while simultaneously commemorating its remains.
Sasakiʼs visit in Detroit was sponsored by Canadian Residency, a winner of the Knight Foundationʼs Knight Arts Challenge. Additional thanks to Cranbrook Academy of Art graduate students.
