Doctors have told him that if his friend doesn't recover he would be paralyzed for life. At the time, he only had mobility in his eyelids. Knowing the fate of his friend lays in his hands he couldn't say no. So he stayed to help him go to bathroom, change clothes, eat, and accompany him to crucial recovery sessions.
After the 40 days was over. The danger period was passed, he bid farewell to his friend, hoping to return to his normal life. But just as he was getting on the taxi, he had a change of heart and went back.
After he went back, he witnessed his friend giving up on everything. He didn't want to be a burden especially to someone he's not related to. But after a lot of convincing, he finally resumed his recovery journey. Today, he can walk again thanks to his friend's help.
