Freak Slug gave an assured performance at the Bowery Ballroom, playing her hummable indie-oriented songs, and having some nice interaction with the audience. She invited the audience to bring anything they want signed to her concerts, and she will gladly oblige! I was very impressed with the quality of the songs and her mature but delightful showpersonship.

Xenya Genovese, a.k.a. Freak Slug, is a British indie rock musician from Manchester. Genovese has released three EPs since 2021 and in November 2024 Genovese released her debut album, I Blow Out Big Candles, to positive reviews.
