Safety in aircraft inspections, a topic of great importance for the whole aviation community! Because of the potentially dangerous work environment of aircraft maintenance, mechanics are at more of a risk than in other career fields. Working on aircraft means working high above the ground, moving heavy objects, using powerful machinery and being near hazardous chemicals — not to mention the long-term risk of exposure to vibration and noise.

What if this process could be made more safe?

It can! Namely with the help of drones.

An automated drone inspection eliminates the need for maintenance technicians to climb in great heights using ladders, scaffolding, and lifts. No licensed drone operator is needed, only supervision by ground personnel who controls the operation. Identifying damages quicker, allows not only for more efficient repairs but also ensures more overall safety in aircraft inspections.

Better safe than sorry!
