This video is part of a multi-volume series that contains music video clips of songs that surprisingly did not reach the US Billboard Top 40 charts. Some were never released as singles or were released as B-sides to another song. Some reached the Hot 100 but couldn't crack the Top 40. Some just couldn't reach even the Hot 100 for one reason or another. However, these songs are well known for various reasons. Some were popular because of exposure on MTV, or extensive airtime on FM radio, or exposure on soundtracks in popular movies. These videos focus on songs primarily from the 70s and 80s with a few strays from the late 60s or early 90s. Groups such as the Beatles are not included as it could be argued that dozens of their songs should have reached the Top 40 if they had been released as singles.
