I've gotta say that I'm a little bit disappointed by how rarely I see comments, posts, and general discussions related to german trance tracks and producers in the trance scene.Yeah, the Dutches are the kings of the genre and there are some big UK and USA-based producers but some of the greatest hits (especially the hard trance ones) came straight from Germany.
Not only that, but even after the decline (in popularity) of our beloved genre and the general transformation that have happened in the early 2010's, most german DJ's remained true to the classic sound, yet no one ever seems to talk about it.
You have to look no further than the D.Trance trance album series to realize this (which is the longest running trance series of all time and the only old one that is still going). You can find absolute bangers even on the newer releases, tracks that evoke that signature classic sound that you've only heard from Dutch / English / American producers a decade or more ago.

Anyway, here's a great german hard trance classic from one of the greatest trance producers in my humble opinion, Andreas Schmidt (AKA Ace Da Brain, Baced, Pervading Call, Pervading Call Two).
Most of his works have an easily recognizable, busy sound, with a lot of different sounds and melodies working in seamless harmony in order to evoke trance and catharsis inside of the listener.
Witness is a special one and its "story" is open to interpretation, but it's basically a track about the inner duality and conflict of its creator and/or the clash of two very different sounds.
The first part of the track is the "Baced" part, which is strictly hard trance, the second is "Ace's Delight", which I think samples a part from an opera-song (I'm not sure about that) and have a more classical feeling to it.
The final part is about resolving the clash and uniting, this way creating a really special and powerful sound.
