The Quar world is populated by animals strange and familiar.

Unmatched in speed, mounted cavalry units are the favored troops of many Quar commanders. A Cadier is an unassuming beast with grace and agility. They are stoic about mud, unflinching about wind, and can keep a pace quite beyond the internal combustion engine and its bellowing clatter. The highly trained cavalry units are not only useful on the battlefield, but they also look great on parade back home.

Beasts of burden are also crucial for the war effort. Thundering onward, the massive Faerf have been pressed into service carrying key supplies to the rhyflers that need them, often in places truck and tractor cannot reach. Some inventive, or courageous, Royalist commanders have made use of the beasts in a more aggressive manner. Arming two rhyflers with machine guns, and strapping them to the sides of a barely domesticated animal may not seem like the brightest idea, but it has been unusually successful in practice.
