With a height of over 80 meters and a length of 287 meters, the New Kattwyk Rail Bridge in the Port of Hamburg is a structure of superlatives. The movable lift span, which weighs 2,000 tons, will be raised to over 55 meters for shipping traffic in parallel with the old Kattwyk Bridge next to it, which will in future be reserved exclusively for road traffic. For Actemium, the opening of the new Kattwyk rail bridge at the end of 2020 marks the successful completion of a project lasting around four and a half years. Actemium Hamburg was commissioned by SEH Engineering GmbH to carry out the complete electrical, instrumentation and control technology for the lift bridge, thus making a major contribution to the smooth operation of the entire system.
