This strange looking child was spotted with his elder brother selling balloons by the side of the road. A man with a puppet approached. Soon, their mother returned. Through her, they learned that she barely makes any money selling balloons each day. She has sent her son away for boarding school. But this isn't one of those that rich families send their kids to.

This is often used by poor families to send their kids to when they are too busy with work. These parents aren't rich and it's free for children. But of course they won't be given good food or accommodations while they are there.

She had devoted all her time to caring for her sick child who was born with a huge birthmark over his face. Upon seeing him, her husband left her. She's been struggling since. However, good news is that the condition can be managed. They insert things into his skull to expand the skin so they could use it to replace the skin on the face that has the birthmark. There will be enough skin leftover to cover the head.

She has borrowed around $130k local currency from family and friends. The man could tell that the older child although appear strong and doesn't seem to harbor any resentment towards his sibling or mother, still needed love but all his mother's love is on his younger sibling currently. He has lost both of his parents in a way. His father because of the way his younger brother looks, his mother because she needs to spend all her time taking care of her youngest child.

It's a sad situation. So when the man offered to give them $10k to buy all their balloons, the woman understandably wanted to take the money but refused because of how large the amount was. So he stuffed them into a monkey toy and gifted it to the boy instead.
