Three years after being declared 'sane' by the state of Texas, Roky Erickson recorded his first solo single, "Red Temple Prayer" (Two Headed Dog) along with three other tracks.

Doug Sahm funded the $500 recording session and produced the single on his own label to support Roky's comeback.

Released in 1975, "Two Headed Dog" slammed its VU meter into the red, with everything intensely compressed. This track marked a significant milestone in Erickson's solo career.
