Germany is facing a number of major issues. High energy costs, bureaucratic delays, inflation and a crumbling infrastructure, among other problems, have weakened Europe's biggest economy. Many in Germany are struggling to make ends meet and rely on the kindness of volunteers and workers at the country’s social institutions.
On February 23, Germans will elect a new government. But for many in need, hope for change remains low.
