Join us as we visit Cordes Sur Ciel - a timeless French medieval town high up on a rocky hill top!

Back in 2018 when we were in Mozambique, we met a lovely couple; John and Barbara. They were from the UK and soon after meeting them, we had such a great time together that we decided to adopt them as grandparents ❤️. From Mozambique to Richards Bay, South Africa, we traveled together. After saying goodbye, we soon met again in the country of Lesotho. Here we continued to share countless fun and silly moments together and planned to see each other again someday in Europe.

We finally had a chance to meet back up in Southern France at Barbara's charming and enchanting French abode in Cordes Sur Ciel.

Barbara literally restored the entire house in a project worthy of a reality TV show. Join us for a tour of the stunning interior and see how she has combined old and new to create a dreamy atmosphere inside and out.

The beautiful bastide of Cordes usually sits above the clouds that blanket the valley below, offering a panoramic view over the northern valley and the Cerou River. Known for its splendid gothic houses built in the golden age of the city, Cordes Sur Ciel is home to important buildings & structures including a Market Square, two chapels, the church of Saint-Michel, and more!

Cordes also houses a one-of-a-kind attraction - the Art Museum of Sugar and Chocolate Yves Thuriès. Located at the top of the city in the House Prunet, the museum contains hundreds of pieces of art made completely of sugar including subjects as diverse as the Middle Ages, mythology, technology and nature.

With its medieval atmosphere of the fortified gates, ramparts, sculpted gothic façades and little hidden corners, Cordes Sur Ciel is a place of inspiration for painters, writers, sculptors, and more. It's no wonder why John and Barbara chose to live here!
