Eric Patrick Clapton is a famous English rock and blues guitarist, singer and songwriter, born March 30, 1945. Nickname: "Slowhand".He is one of the most successful and influential guitarists in rock music, three times inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Clapton played in famous bands such as Cream, The Yardbirds, John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers, and also worked solo.
His best-known compositions include "Layla" and "Tears in Heaven".
Winner of several Grammy Awards and Commander of the Order of the British Empire (2004).
His musical career spans over six decades, and he has sold over 100 million records worldwide.
Clapton also founded the Crossroads Centre in Antigua, a medical center for addiction rehabilitation.
