I have been Dutch for 25 years now. Of those 25 years I have been traveling and meeting foreigners for about 3 years.

For 3 years straight I had to explain why us Dutch people don’t consider lunch a meal and why adults put chocolate sprinkles on their untoasted bread.

The clip you see was filmed by my girlfriend. She took a flight with KLM and they promised her a “traditional Dutch lunch”. She got 2 slices of dry bread with two slices of dry cheese… 😂

After I was done laughing, I did feel bad for her a little bit.
I think this is what one would call “plane food”…

In all seriousness, If we didn’t have the Indonesian and Surinamese influences, our cuisine would be on the ropes 😂
