Monolith (live) | Classical Contemporary Techno | Tilt Shift Tuesday 15th April 2025

Melbourne based live producer Monolith has brought to us a body of work that defies direct categorisation in any one genre of electronic music. This is why we love it and wanted to just release it as is without any further explanation!

Monolith (Louay Zoghaib) is a Techno/Ambient artist who combines contemporary electronic techniques with traditional music practices. Having a formal background in audio engineering, sound design and classical composition, Louay uses his experiences to create a unique tapestry of sonic textures that appeals both on and off the dancefloor. This is achieved through Monolith's improvisational live approach with modular synthesisers and other electronic instrumentation.

Influenced by the melodic sound of early Techno, through to Acid Techno and minimal electronica, Monolith continually pursues new ways technology and creativity can collide to evolve his performances, sound and music. Monolith is a road trip fuelled by the romanticism of Dub Techno, the brittle sparks of minimal electronica and greased with Detroit Techno's futuristic and melodic anatomy.

Tilt Shift sits firmly left of centre, a difficult-to-label square peg that unintentionally fails to fit a pigeonhole. Borrowing from the photography term, Tilt Shift refers to two different types of movement, a selective focus with a large depth of field used to control perception. As we have come to think of it, it’s where the lines blur

Since our debut as Tilt Shift in 2017, we have facilitated events at a variety of the city's most reputable late-night haunts like Revolver, Boney, Section 8 & New Guernica. In this time we have hosted & toured artists such as: Marvin & Guy, Curses, The Hacker, Tronic Youth & Timothy Clerkin
