Will CRISPR-based human genome editing lead to super athletes? Despite the scientific, legal and ethical barriers around this form of gene doping, the stakes are so high in sport that some countries could chance, despite the risks.

The Arizona State University Global Sport Institute is funding a pilot project to explore the potential social, legal and ethical impacts of embryonic gene editing on global sport, before it's too late. because the chances are that, if someone can use the technology to try and create super athletes, someone will!

RISK BITES LITE

Risk Bites Lite videos are shorter and lighter than regular Risk Bites videos — perfect for an injection of fun thoughts when you’re not in the mood for anything too heavy! We’ll be piloting Risk Bites Lite videos over the next few months — if enough people watch them, they’ll probably stay. In the meantime, we’ll still be posting the usual whiteboard videos.

Thanks for watching!
