This Atole De Avena takes me far back to my childhood, my mom prepared this for us regularly. We loved it alone or with raisins, and it was delicious anytime of the day or night. This is a traditional Mexican oatmeal recipe, some like it thick and some like it thin and many like to blend the oats into a thin powder then make it into a smooth drink. I like it thick enough to eat it with a spoon or drink it right out of the cup, I’m telling you it’s all good. Atole de Avena is also delicious cold and topped with your favorite fruit. 2 1/2 C. Water
2 cinnamon sticks
2 whole cloves
1 1/2 C. Quaker Oats
1/2 C. Sugar (i used sugar in the raw)or granulated
1/4 tsp Salt or less
1 tsp Vanilla Extract
3 C. Whole milk
Ground cinnamon to sprinkle
Golden raisins (optional)
