This little gouache painting has some bizarre amorphous shapes in an underwater setting. Most of my paintings have a fluid liquid feeling because the imagery comes from paint swirls/splatters so it makes sense. But it’s always interesting to see what order and symmetry can come from seemingly random acts of paint blending or flowing together. It’s what makes the process fun and interesting and also interpreting the images as well. What I pick and choose to focus on is not what someone else would although I do try to capture some of the original randomness.
The music for this was lent to me by James Short who is a talented artist, designer and musician. He made this song in the eighties. Below is a link to that and some more music from James on Soundcloud that is free to download and use under bendigai.
