Amnesty International reports that over 300 people were killed and thousands injured as Mozambique’s government violently suppressed protests following the disputed October 2024 elections. Opposition candidate Venancio Mondlane accused the ruling Frelimo party of vote rigging in favour of Daniel Chapo, sparking widespread demonstrations.
