On 23 June 1989, ITN's Ken Rees reported from the premiere of Tim Burton's Batman in Washington DC. The film's leading stars, Michael Keaton (Bruce Wayne/Batman) and Kim Basinger (Vicki Vale) were joined by a host of Hollywood stars including Sylvester Stallone and Eddie Murphy. Also in attendance were US Vice President Dan Quayle and Warner Brothers chairman Stephen Ross.
